PRESENT TENSE A PRACTICE IN ATTENTION

I began photographing the sky above Rotterdam as a daily practice. There was no specific goal, only the intention to pause, look, and be present.

What started as a simple routine slowly became a ritual. Each photograph marks a moment in time: a specific day, a certain light, a changing sky. The photographs are not about the sky itself, but about the act of looking. They are traces of a daily practice of attention, a collection of moments shaped by repetition and time.

In August 2026, during a presentation at Ballon Rouge Gallery, the images come together as a growing installation. Printed, dated, and arranged in chronological order by hand, they form a visual record of this ongoing practice. The act of building the installation becomes part of the work: a slow process of repetition, care, and attention made visible.

On 23 August 2026, the completed installation will be presented at Ballon Rouge Gallery in Rotterdam. The presentation takes place from 15:00 – 17:00, and the installation will remain on view view until 26 September 2026.
