Familiar Water

In 2025 I began walking at the Kralingse Plas every Monday, no plan, no expectations: just me and my camera. I was looking for stillness, and for a way to rekindle my joy in photography.

Over time, I noticed that the water kept returning in my images. Its surface, reflections, and what moves beneath. Almost without intention, it became a quiet constant.

I returned week after week. What started as a walk became a self-imposed ritual. The photographs form a time capsule of the water, recorded over the course of a year, in all its changing states.

I continue to return in 2026.
